Another challenge we had was composting on
site. We really knew we wanted to do it. Again
you know our native plants on-site, we're really
inspired by more natural systems, and so we
wanted to see if we could do it. We used to
have a compost dumpster delivered to our site
once a year and that was starting to cost us a
lot of money.
So we decided to compost on site. We actually
save thousands of dollars with that. But once
we got certified it was really hard to figure out
how to track and measure this. So we
developed a system, me and our facilities
manager, to do a volume to weight conversion
for it, and that took a while to develop. But now
we are getting really good at measuring it.
