As well with our recycling, our hauler actually
weighs our recycling for us once it gets their
plant, so that's been great to have, just because
it's great data that we can actually use to verify
our collection.
And then one more question:
What are some unique things you recycle or
divert from the landfill?
So I would say unique things that we recycle and
divert. You know it's really easy for us to recycle
paper and shrink wrap and plastic and
aluminum, but once we started really thinking,
"Okay this isn't just about getting to zero waste,
but it's about having a bigger impact."
We actually started recycling our cigarettes. So
we have a couple employees who smoke on site
and get them involved and we actually recycle
those and send them into TerraCycle* and
TerraCycle composts the tobacco, and then uses
the plastic materials to make plastic benches,
etc. So that's been a really great program to
engage employees in a different way.

hard to recycle materials.
