We were getting catalogs. We have catalogs for
our greeting cards and the vendor was shipping
them to us in this really thick shrink wrap. And
so our employees were having to spend all this
time getting all this shrink wrap off of all these
thousands of catalogs, and we didn't even need
to shrink wrap. It wasn't actually protecting the
catalogs.
So we went back to them and said,
"Hey we don't want the shrink wrap." So, they
made a special occasion for us and now we get
all of those delivered shrink-wrap free. So we're
able to just not even have to recycle that
material. So there's just lots of ways when you
might have to kind of rethink things.
Julie Peterson: That's a great example. A lot of
those things are things so many organizations
can do whether they're pursuing certification or
not.
I think I put one more in there, sorry. Oh you
have mentioned that you have internal positions
dedicated to sustainability like yours. If an
organization doesn't have a dedicated position
would you recommend that they outsource
some of this? Do you have any
recommendations?
