We knew we also wanted to get employees
involved since we had it on site. So again we
encouraged them to bring in their own
materials. And we just had to make sure we
weren't going to overuse the system. It's
inspired us to start an on-site garden so right
next to our compost pile we actually turned, got
some pallets and made a raised garden bed,
and we use this composted material in there
with access that we had.
And again it was a little bit more difficult to get
this set up, but once we did and he saw the
benefit because it helps create a closed loop
system that we're trying to inform and inspire
our team.
So that's what our approach was to the TRUE
Zero Waste certification. It really was for us a
great summary and practice to go beyond
recycling. It helped us transform zero waste
practices into an ongoing conversation essential
to decision-making and our leadership team,
employee engagement and it really built a new
culture in a way of thinking for us.
