So then, how we got to platinum? We ended up
achieving 68 out of 81 points. When we originally
started the certification, we thought we might get
to gold, and then the closer we got to gold, we
thought, "Oh, nope! We can get to Platinum. We
just need a little bit more time." And as we went
along, we've learned more and our program grew
and changed, and that was really exciting.
Our diversion rate upon certification, that baseline
year data, was 90.85% I think right now our
diversion rate is upwards of 94%. So we continue
to grow and improve. The certification itself took
us about six months to complete. But again this
varies, we extended it out a little bit longer so that
we could get to platinum. And yeah, we are very
excited to be the first in the state of Missouri and
Kansas to get the certification, and the first printer
in the country to achieve the Platinum level.
So here's a little bit of an overview of our
successes. Some of our successes were reducing
trash collection and costs, zero waste reporting,
engaging our employees and making intentional
purchasing choices.
