So here's a little bit more about reducing trash
collection. Here you see the great picture in one of
our eating areas where employees have just really
well-marked bins where they can compost or
recycle different materials.
So part of that was we increased our recycling by
so much that we were actually able to reduce our
trash collection. So we went from getting it
collected every week to every other week and this
reduced our trash cost by 83%. So this was just a
huge cost savings for us and really reinforced that
our program has was successful.
And then as well we got so good at recycling that
many of our employees asked for an alternative to
trash cans in their actual office or cubicle. So we
went ahead and replaced all office trash cans with
"Sort Me Bins".
